Me, write a blog!?

I am willing, LORD Master!

Journey’s Narrow Door has been born out of obedience to God’s direction to me.  Why He asked me to write a blog, I have no idea.  I can list 100’s of reasons why I am totally inadequate to write a blog, but, those excuses don’t matter to God.  Believe me, I tried.

Here’s the scoop. I was sitting on the couch one morning during my quiet time and felt Him speak to me about this.  My reaction was really amazement.  Why would He ask this of me, because I am the last person on earth that wanted to start a blog.  I know I have nothing to say and more importantly who in the world would want to read a blog from me! Isn’t that the point of a blog, to be read?

But, you know the LORD Master, excuses mean nothing.  In fact, while I was doing the Moses excuses on Him, I flipped over and readied my Gideon impersonation.  I said, ok, if You want me to blog, you have to give me the topics.  I have nothing to say, so if You want me to start this blog You have to give me the topics.  Yep, thought this was the end of this blog idea.  But, I said I would play along and I got a sheet of paper and a pen. Well, about ten minutes later when I stopped writing and counted the items I had written down, there were 32 meaty topics.  What else was I to do about my stubbornness?  I repented before Him.  He had made His point.

You see, when you claim to be a child of GOD, through His Son Jesus Christ, and He calls you to do something, He doesn’t accept excuses. What He expects from you is a willing and a totally surrendered heart, whose only response is “Yes LORD Master.”

You follow your response to Him by humble obedience and complete dependence on Him to accomplish whatever He has asked of you no matter what does or doesn’t happen.

My trust is not in myself or my abilities because I have nothing that is in anyway able to help others or even myself.  I trust my LORD Master because, He is GOD and for Him impossible is Possible.  Power and life are in His Words and by His Spirit Jesus changes our hearts and brings healing to our inner being.

So, this blog isn’t about me or what I have to say, I have nothing worthwhile or helpful to say from my own wisdom. My opinions won’t help you, heal you or save you.  My name may be here as the author of these stories, BUT, the focus belongs to Christ Jesus alone.

Now, the life lessons are really all mine.  Believe me I have enough life lessons that I won’t have to make anything up!  I am not proud to say, but I still tons of ugly self-life (I call this my self-dog) whirling around in me that needs to be dealt with.  I am not perfect. I slip up all the time. I have to get back on my knees before GOD daily and confess sin.  The Grace and Mercy of GOD is the only way I can survive a day.

I will not intentionally lead anyone astray or against the Word of GOD. I never want to misrepresent GOD’s Holy Scripture in any way.  Thus, I have asked others to hold me accountable to what is written/posted here at JND.

Journey’s Narrow Door has one purpose: to point you to God’s Son, Jesus Christ who is the only source of life in a hopeless and helpless world and encourage you to place yourself and all you have on His altar in absolute surrender.  To intimately know the true and living GOD and to have a wonderful and deep relationship with Him.  To know and experience His Life; His Truth; His Saving Power; His Holiness; His Might; His Love; His Healing; His Strength; His everything!

We often learn through other people’s adventures, mishaps, struggles and life-lessons. Hopefully, as I recount some of my life-lessons, learned in my LORD Master’s schoolroom, you will find courage to surrender your life completely to the only one who knows how to live life with true life, Jesus Christ.

I know everyone is different and has different life-lessons to learn. But, our Master is the same. Glean what GOD has for you here.  Tell others. Share the blog with others.  Not to make me great,  but so that the Master’s life and power can heal the brokenness, fill the voids, quench the thirst, and satisfy the longings deep inside you.  We share the good things we find with our loved ones and friends, why not share the love of our Master with them also.

Oh, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, I pray that you become the clay in the Potter’s hands.  GOD our Father has purposefully planned your life long before you were born. He knows the type of vessel you can become if only you will totally surrender your life to Him. Trust Him!

The clay yields to the Potter’s hands as He carefully crafts His vessel into which He pours His very Life.

Our LORD Master, Jesus Christ loves you!

J
