A Picture’s Worth

What do you see?

When I saw this picture I was just overtaken with the sense of how in this one picture, to me, Jesus is portrayed.

In Revelation 5:5 it states

“And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.”

In this verse Jesus is referred to as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the only One worthy to open the seals on the scroll of coming judgment on the earth.

You may not be able to see it clearly, but it is snowing in the picture. In Isaiah 1:18 the LORD references how our sins, scarlet and crimson will be as white as snow.  Of course, not because of anything we do, but because of what He did for us.

““Come now, and let us reason together,”  Says the Lord,  “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow;  Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”

In Psalms 51:7 it states:

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;  Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”

Jesus cleanses us from our sin and we shall be made whiter than snow.

Snow, as is rain, is such a visual reminder to me that GOD’s Grace is continually flowing down upon us. It never stops.

When it rains or snows, I am reminded to thank our LORD for His Mighty Grace. Of course, on sunny days, I look for other things to remind me to thank my LORD Master. I am always thankful for a shady parking spot or a big cloud blocking the sun’s heat for awhile.

If you look at the picture, this mighty king of the jungle is looking up. To me, this is a perfect picture of how Jesus lived His life. He gave up His Glory to come to earth for us; to make a way for us to be reconciled to His Father so that we could have life forever with GOD.

While He lived as both GOD and man, He was in continual submission to His Father in Heaven. He did nothing but His Father’s Will for Him.  His eyes were never off His Father, even when He cared for the people around Him. Jesus, fully GOD and fully man; the King of kings and LORD of lords; mighty and powerful, but, humble and obedient to His Father’s Will.

The pictured above serves as a reminder to me that Jesus’ life is an example to me on how I am to live; humble and obedient to the Father’s Will.  My eyes should always look up to my Father in Heaven and my spirit surrendered to His.

Father, help us to surrender to you our self-will and follow our LORD Master’s example of obedience to You.  We cannot do it ourselves. Without You we are nothing. Abba Father, we look to You with not only our physical eyes, but with the eyes of our soul also.  May we know Your presence moment by moment each and every day.

We Love You, LORD Master. Thank you.

In Jesus’ name I pray

Amen
