Breathing and Beating

Today, someone we knew only a short while went to be with our LORD Master.  GOD brought her into His glorious and peace filled arms. Today, she is beginning eternity with her Savior and King, worshipping Him alone and singing with the angels, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD GOD Almighty who was and is and is to come.” Revelation 4:8 NKJV

As I pause and weep with this family in their time of sorrow, I can only contemplate my own mortality and realize that all life comes from our mighty and wonderful GOD.  The air in my lungs and the beating of my heart all come from the One who gave me life and now sustains that life by His will.

My, our, very existent comes from the Will of GOD.  We are not self-made people.  We are created beings. Created by GOD – the same GOD that explains to Moses who He is, stating  “I AM WHO I AM”  in Exodus 3:14.  Our GOD, the self-existent one, who has no origin and is the Creator of all things, He alone holds our lives in the palm of His hand.

We are not self-created beings.  Only GOD is without cause.  Man, on the other hand, owes his existence to GOD, the Creator of all things.  He alone sustains all things by His power and authority to do so.  Man, does not, cannot sustain anything.

Let’s quit believing the lie that we can do anything and everything without GOD.   We cannot.  Man is totally dependent on GOD for all things. We are to acknowledge our dependence on GOD and turn our lives over to Him.  We are to quit our self-made delusion and realize if it were not by the will of the GOD of the universe, we would not exist at all. Period. We do not have a say in it; we can‘t change it; and we must come to except it. We are not GOD. We can never be GOD or take His place.

What are we to do?  Glad you asked.  We are to surrender our will and life to GOD.  We are to dethrone our man-made god called Self and put it to death.  And, we are to place GOD back on the throne where He belongs.

Surrender your will to GOD. Let Him take care of you and your life.  He knows the beginning and the end and everything in between. GOD, who without any help from us, created all things and now holds all things together and gives life to all, I would have to say, I believe He’s got this one covered.

Lord GOD, please forgive us for our sin, for making ourselves the god of our lives.  LORD GOD, we surrender our self-life to You.  Take our life and make it into whatever You see fit for us to be.  May we bring You glory for all You do in our life and may we serve You with all of our heart, mind and soul.

Remind us that the breath we breathe and the life blood moving through our bodies come only from You.  May we be ever thankful for the days You give us, as well as, grateful for all the blessings You bestow on us each and every second.

Revive our hearts and renew our minds so that our lives will be pleasing to You.  Please don’t leave us the same.
