GOD CAN! I CANNOT!

In the four simple words in the above title, GOD, the creator of the Universe and sustainer of all, summed up the attitude we are to have as His children.  In complete surrender we must admit that we are the created ones.  Four simple, yet profound, words tell us we were never designed to be and do without our Creator GOD; our Almighty, Holy and Wonderful GOD.

The LORD Master woke me early one morning and told me this.  I can’t even remember if I had been struggling with something or not.  More than likely I was struggling with something, but only the LORD Master knows now.   I remember it was almost as if the LORD Master yelled it out in my mind, it was so loud and clear when I heard it.  There was no mistaking who was talking to me and all I could do is get out of bed and repeat those four words over and over.

I still repeat those four words almost daily because it reminds me of my place before my Loving GOD.  In Philippians 2:13(AMP) it states this about our Wonderful and Living GOD:

“ ¹³ [Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while ^[a]effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and^[b]delight.”

To me, this verse is telling me that it is GOD who works out His will in me.  That it is not my strength that works out in my life, because I have none.  It is GOD’s everything that is at work in me – that is when I let Him.

Now, I can squelch His work in me simply by not surrendering my life totally to Him.   He wants all I am, a total package, in a life realized that I CANNOT, but only HE CAN.

In Ephesians 3:20 it states “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us….”

The verse above tells me that it is GOD who is able to do far more than I can ever imagine, dream of, want, desire, or do.  It is GOD who does for me through His Holy Spirit working in me.  For example:

If nothing is impossible for GOD, why am I trying to do it? Surrender and let GOD.

GOD CAN:

Do EVERYTHING

Create the universe

Hold the universe in order

Creates and gives breath to man and all created beings

I CAN:

Do NOTHING without GOD

Complete list for man

Puts things into perspective doesn’t it!  WOW! four simple words “GOD CAN!  I CANNOT!”

My trust is not in myself or my abilities because I have nothing that is in anyway able to help others or even myself.

I trust my LORD Master because, He is GOD and for Him impossible is Possible.

Power and life are in His Words and by His Spirit Jesus changes my heart and brings healing to my inner being.
